Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to connect your Sifely Smart Lock to Alexa:
Requirements before starting
- A Sifely Gateway (Wi-Fi bridge) — Alexa integration only works with a gateway.
- Sifely Smart Lock paired and working in the Sifely Smart Lock App.
- An Amazon Alexa device (Echo, Echo Dot, etc.) already set up in the Alexa App.
- A stable Wi-Fi connection (2.4 GHz recommended).
Step 1: Open the New Sifely Smart Lock App and enable the “Remote unlock” feature in your Sifely lock settings.
1.1 Pair the Sifely gateway to the App (If not already added). Refer to this article on how to pair Sifely Gateway to your Sifely Smart lock. How to set up and reconfigure the Sifely G2 gateway to Sifely Smart Lock App?
1.2 Check the Gateway signal strength of your lock — make sure the signal is strong.
Lock Settings > Gateway > Nearby gateways
Step 2: Open the Alexa App and login to your Amazon account.
Step 3: Enable the Sifely Skill in your Alexa App.
3.1 Go to “More” and tap “Skills and Games”.
3.2 Search “SifelySmart”.
3.3 Tap “Enable to use”.
Step 4: Link your Sifely Smart lock App account.
4.1 You’ll be prompted to log in with your Sifely account credentials.
Step 5: Discover device.
5.1 Once the Sifely Skill has been successfully linked, tap “Next”. Alexa will automatically search for your Sifely devices.
5.2 Choose or select the Sifely Smart device that you want to connect to Alexa and tap “Set up Device” and continue.
Step 6: Control Sifely Smart lock with Alexa voice command.
6.1 Go to “Devices” and tap the Sifely Smart lock device.
6.2 Enable the “Unlock By Voice And Echo Hub” and create your security access code, which Alexa will required you before unlocking the Sifely Smart Lock.
(Optional: For unlocking using the Alexa App, you can enable the “Unlock With Alexa App”).
6.3 You can now use Alexa Voice command by stating:
“Alexa unlock “State the name of your lock”.
e.g. “Alexa, unlock Sifely front door”.
⚠️ Tips and Notes:
- Unlocking by voice is disabled by default for safety. To enable, go to the Alexa app → Device Settings → Lock → Unlock by voice → set a PIN.
- The Alexa routine is not compatible with Sifely Smart Lock.
🔧 Technical troubleshooting:
- If you received an error message “Unable to link Sifely Skill at this time” while linking your Sifely App account, please try to disable and re-enable the Sifely Skill again multiple times or try again after an hour.
- If Alexa can’t find the Sifely Smart Lock device, try disabling and re-enabling the Sifely Skill, then rediscover devices.
