If you’ve recently installed a new Sifely Smart Lock and noticed that it doesn’t automatically lock after you close the door, don’t worry—your lock isn’t malfunctioning. The reason is simple:
Auto-Lock Is Disabled by Default
For the newest models of Sifely Smart Locks, the auto-lock feature is turned off by default. This means that after installation, your lock won’t automatically secure itself unless you manually enable the feature.
How to Enable Auto-Lock
To activate the auto-lock function:
- Open the Sifely Smart Lock App on your smartphone.
- Go to Lock Settings.
- Tap the “Auto-lock” feature.
- Toggle the switch to enable auto-lock and set your preferred delay time. (The Auto-Lock feature can be set with a delay time ranging from a minimum of 5 seconds to a maximum of 15 minutes.).
Once enabled, your lock will automatically secure itself after the door is closed, giving you peace of mind without having to double-check.
Why Is It Disabled by Default?
This design choice helps new users test and set up their lock without the risk of being accidentally locked out during installation or troubleshooting. By enabling it manually, you can adjust the timing to fit your lifestyle and safety needs.
