Question:
How do I set the privacy mode on the Sifely-O Deadbolt?
Answer:
First, one might ask, "What is Privacy mode?"
Privacy mode is a setting that the Main Admin might use when he or she wants total privacy, similar to a "Do Not Disturb" sign. This might be useful to a day sleeper, a honeymoon couple, or a private business meeting. Basically, it will disable the entry methods of non-admin users, such as passcodes, FOBs, and fingerprints.
There are a couple of exceptions:
- A physical key will still open the door
- The Main Admin can open the door with his or her Sifely App (tapping the Big Blue Lock Icon).
- The one passcode that will unlock it is the admin passcode* (found in the Basics sub-menu of the Lock settings Menu)
*For more information on admin passcode, see the article Admin Passcode
How to Enable Privacy Mode:
Pressing the Multi-function button will set the lock into Privacy mode. If turned ON, you will hear the lock say, “ Secure lock is ON.” Once this is on, the electronic entry methods will be disabled for all non-admin users of the lock.
Note: The privacy mode is also available on the latest Sifely-S Smart lock
This feature can be turned On or Off in the Lock Settings.
