Question:
Why am I getting a "Passcode already exists" even though there is no same code in the passcode list?
Answer:
There are some possible reasons that could cause this:
1. Admin Passcode: Admin code has a high security level, which restricts the user from creating a code that contains an Admin Code.
For example: If the user created an admin code 1234 they cannot create a passcode containing the admin code. (Ex. 34123456, 123456, 001234 - The user will receive a “Passcode already exists”.
Checklist:
- Ensure that the created custom passcode does not contain an admin Passcode combination.
- Try searching multiple times on your passcode list if the passcode does not exist.
2. Issue with lock data sync to server: The lock data is typically synced to the server and displayed in the app via Bluetooth or via a network connection using a gateway. However data may differ for unknown reasons leading to “Passcode already exists” error.
Recommended troubleshooting steps:
- Try to disable and enable the Remote unlock feature while near the lock.
- Try to do the upload data function.
This will force the lock data to sync with the server.
